THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR BENCHTOP
It is essential that you decide on the design parameters like edge profile, overhang, sink cut-out and joint type before you finalize the design of your kitchen benchtop , vanity top, splashback or stone island.
Once the stone has been cut it is generally not possible to alter these parameters at a later stage.

JOINTSA mitre join is when the edge of the stone bench top has been cut at a 45° angle. Another strip that has also been cut at 45° is then glued to this edge, to form a 90° angle. The match creates a clean finish and shows only a minimal join.
Butt Joint - This type of joining option is available for all type of benchtop materials. |
UNDERMOUNT SINKThese are sinks that sit under your benchtop creating a clean line to your benchtop; they work best with a very solid bench surface material, such as stone or quartz. The minimum recommended distance between the outer edge of the benchtop and the edge of the sink cut-out is 80 ~ 90 mm for Manufactured stones and 90 ~ 100 mm for Granite and Marble.
Undermount sinks are available in either stone or solid surface benchtops. |
SINK DRAINER GROOVESDraining grooves can contribute significantly to the overall look of a kitchen. Sink drainer grooves are usually done in conjunction with your undermount sink.
